Coalition for A Better Nigeria has tasked new service chiefs on better performance, while advocating for better alternative to open grazing.

The group also solicited compensation for victims of herdsmen crises, commended Afe Babalola University (AFUAD’s) research on COVID-19, as well as celebrated Niyi Akintola, Siyan Oyeweso, Olusola Ayandele, Kemi Jaiyeoba, Bello Aderemi, and Muyiwa Ademola on their respective birthday.

This is even as the Coalition mourned Larry King, Kwara’s Pioneer Grand Khadi, Gambo – Jimeta, and Fatai Aborode, the Sun former Editor and Ekiti State lawmaker.

The National Coordinator of the Coalition, Comrade AWA Bamji, who stated these in a statement on Sunday, quoted a British philosopher, saying “There is nothing as irresistible as an idea whose time has come. Those who are opposing it are merely holding back the tide of history and the tide of history held over time, burns the fingers”.

According to the Coalition, “the latest change of Guards is a welcome development and it is on this note, we commend the Federal Government for taking this step after so much outcry from the Public including this noble organisation.

“It’s better to be late than never. While we wish the outgoing Service Chiefs the best of luck in their future endeavors, we also congratulate the new ones and urge them to be highly committed and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.

“They must learn from the mistakes of their Predecessors and always make themselves accessible to the critical Stakeholders through who they could get the adequate intelligence reports to work on”, the group said.

The body noted that the various ethnic groups in Nigeria must understand the nature of conflict and must give peace a chance, saying that “war is never an option.

“The various States’ Governments must provide better alternatives to open grazing before the pronouncement of outright ban while law must be applied to the Criminals among the Herders.

“We appreciate the uncommon patriotism and royal sincerity of the Sultan of Sokoto, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, for publicly acknowledging the fact that 7 to 8 out of every 10 Kidnappers arrested in Nigeria are Fulani.

“That is the bitter truth and it is on this note we will advise him to start championing “National image laundering for the Fulani tribe” because an unreserved apology has to be tendered formally and this must be accompanied by genuine reconciliation across Board while the Government must be responsible for adequate compensation for the Victims of the Herdsmen crises.

“The recent scientific breakthrough on COVID-19 recorded by Afe Babalola University (AFUAD) is not only historic but also a plus to the Academic Community and Nigeria at large.

“We salute the following illustrious Sons and Daughter of Oyo and Osun States on their Birthday anniversaries, the legal luminary and Oyo State 2019 APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Chief Niyi Akintola, SAN; One of the leading Nigeria’s Academics and Historians, who have authored dozens of books with over 200 Publications, Prof Siyan Oyeweso @ 60; Ibarapa – born Billionaire, who also doubles as Oyo State 2019 APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Dr Olusola Ayandele @ 60 and Hon Kemi Jaiyeoba, former Commissioner for Commerce Industry Cooperatives and Tourism, Oyo State, and Comrade Bello Wasiu Aderemi, Osun State Commander, Vigilante Group of Nigeria; the Yoruba Nollywood Actor, Muyiwa Ademola @ 50.
