Buhari Approves Appointments in Education Sector

Nigeria‘s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved appointments of persons into key establishments in the education sector.

The appointments were communicated in a press release signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations in the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Bem Goong.

According to Mr. Goong, Prof. John Okpako Enaohwvo was appointed the Chairman, Governing Board of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, (NCCE), Abuja, while Prof. Abdullahi A. Abba was named Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State.

Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje was appointed the Executive Secretary, National Board For Technical Education (NBTE) Kaduna and Dr. Benjamin Ogbole Abakpa was appointed the Executive Secretary, National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Abuja.

Other appointees, The Street Reporters Newspaper reports, are: Prof. Paulinus Chijikoke Okwelle, Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Abuja; Prof. Ibrahim Muhammad, Director/CEO, Nigerian Arabic Language Village, Ngala, Borno State, and Mrs. Hajo Sani (OON), Ambassador/Permanent delegate of Nigeria to United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO).

The spokesman of the ministry, Mr. Goong noted that all the appointments are with effect from the 16th March, 2021.
