Cash Crunch: Tobi, An Exemplary Police Officer Gets Force Headquarters Commendation

The Force Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force has commended an exemplary police officer, Inspector Tobi Kulani Kanadi, who sacrificed N2000 cash to enable a stranded health worker to meet up with a medical emergency at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Recall that amid controversies that trailed the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria to redesign the N200, N500, and N1,000 notes, there have been cash crunch in the country as bank customers have been unable to access cash at the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in Abuja, Inspector Tobi Kulani Kanadi is attached to the Police Mobile Force 44, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Narrating how the police officer made the gesture, the Police Spokeperson noted that the police officer sacrificed a cash sum of 2,000 Naira (the maximum daily allocated) for a Health Worker he met on a long ATM queue at National Hospital Abuja, who needed to make a withdrawal before proceeding to attend to some medical emergencies and whose plea to others on the queue to allow medical personnel take cash had been rebuffed.

Commending the police officer, the statement noted that “Today we acknowledge and commend one of our own, Inspector Tobi Kulani Kanadi attached to Police Mobile Force 44, Force Headquarters, Abuja, for being a worthy ambassador and for his thoughtfulness in sacrificing a cash sum of 2,000 Naira (the maximum daily allocated) for a Health Worker he met on a long ATM queue at National Hospital Abuja, who needed to make a withdrawal before proceeding to attend to some medical emergencies and whose plea to others on the queue had been rebuffed.
