BREAKING: Another Batch Of Nigerian Evacuees Fleeing Sudan Arrive Abuja

The efforts of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to safely bring back the country’s nationals from the war-torn Sudan has further yielded results as another batch of 131 Nigerian evacuees arrived Abuja on Saturday.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) said the returnees, mostly women and children, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

They were received by officials of the Federal Government, who expressed optimism that the process would be completed.

More Nigerians are expected to arrive in the coming days as four other airlines including Air Peace, Max Air, Azman Air, and Tarco Aviation are expected to convey other batches back to the country.

The first batch of Nigerians fleeing Sudan through Egypt has arrived Nigeria two days ago.

Some of the citizens evacuated from the country were on board Air Peace aircraft and landed at exactly 11:35pm at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The aircraft had departed Aswan International Airport, Egypt at about 5:30pm.

The Air Peace flight departed at about the same time with that of the Nigerian Air Force, which used its Charlie 130.

Altogether, the two aircraft had 376 passengers in the first batch of evacuees. Read more
