The Super Falcons forward will make history as the first transferred African footballer to play in the WSL if fielded for Liverpool Ladies on Wednesday, reports Goal.com.
Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala will make her debut with Liverpool Ladies in the opening game of the English Women Super League against Sunderland Ladies at the Select Stadium on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old who is the reigning African Women Player of the Year became the first African footballer to join a WSL outfit when she completed her transfer from Rivers Angels.
According to Oshoala, she is eager to hit the ground running with the English women outfit as well as set records with the Reds.
“This season, if everything goes well, which I think it will, I believe I will have another record-making year in 2015,” she told club website.
The emerging world talent began her career from Lagos based FC Robo before joining Port Harcourt based Rivers Angels in 2012 and helped them win a double in 2014. She also led the Super Falcons to win the 2014 African Women Championship.
