Return Jonathan for Stability, Goodluck Support Groups Tell Electorate
At a Pro-Jonathan mega campaign rally held in Abeokuta, Ogun State Thursday, comprising a coalition of various support groups, the Ogun State electorate were advised to vote wisely for continuity for President Jonathan to intensify and consolidate on the various development programmes under the administration’s on-going transformation agenda.
The various groups operating under the umbrella of Goodluck Support Group, Ogun State Chapter comprised of Youth Solidarity Support for Jonathan, PDP Fan Club Worldwide, Ogun State chapter, Presidential Campaign Organisation (Jonathan/Sambo), Rebuild Nigeria Initiative, Campaign for Transformation Agenda, Global Campaign Group for Goodluck/Sambo, and Goodluck Consolidation 2015, among others.
Addressing the rally, a chieftain of the PDP in Ogun State, Chief Joju Fadairo urged the people to mobilise tremendous support for the success of President Jonathan at the March 28 Presidential poll, while also admonishing them to be peaceful, orderly and violent-free during the election.
The PDP chieftain observed that the President had performed creditably in the area of social infrastructure, education, agriculture and security, adding that returning him for another term in office will enable him to continue to do more for the country.
He condemned what he called campaign of calumny against the President by the main opposition party, stressing that continuity is what the country needed at this point in time and not change as being canvassed by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, speaking at the rally, Alhaji Sulaimon Abiola, the Coordinator of the Goodluck Support Group, Ogun state chapter stressed the need for the people to conduct themselves peacefully during the election, calling on the security personnel that would be deployed for the election not to intimidate the people.
Alhaji Abiola also drew attention of Nigerians to the sterling qualities and achievement of President Jonathan in office in the last 6 years, and urged them to vote him back to keep acting more for the country.
