Dasuki’s Home Invasion: DSS Didn’t Seek My Consent, Says Former Sultan
An indication that the rule of law is on trial under the ruling All Progressives Congress has emerged following allegation of a violation of his rights by former Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki, whose son, Col. Sambo Dasuki, is the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA).
Sambo’s father who is the deposes Sultan of Sokoto, while expressing disgust over the raid of his Sokoto residence by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) in connection with allegations against his son.
The former Sultan spoke while reacting to the invasion in an interview with the BBC Hausa service on Monday, lamented that the security agency should have sought his permission before
entering his house.
“The security forces should not have entered my
house without seeking authority, because there is
a difference between me and my son,” he said.
The former NSA had accused the DSS operatives of entering his father’s house “including breaking into the ceiling to look for incriminating documents. They broke a safe in my father’s
house.
“Also, my sister kept a 20-year old box in my
father’s house, they also forced it open.
“What has my father got to do with this? And the old man is in hospital in London. He was shocked to hear that they broke into his house,” the former NSA bemoaned.
