Lead By Example, The Presbyterian Church Tells Officeholders
The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Synod of the West, has called on public office holders to live above board, just as the church also reminded them of the need to uphold the confidence reposed in them by those who voted for them through the actions.
The out going moderator of the synod of the west, the Rev.Nnanna Odege made the call at its 20th regional meeting held at the Presbyterian Church, Lekki Parish in Lagos.
Odege condemned the recent the fight by some law makers at the national assembly over its leadership positions saying it was a minus for the country’s image both locally and internationally.
He advised them to always respect the sensibilities of those who voted them.
The high point of the meeting was the election of a new moderator of the Synod of the West, Rev. Marvellous Kalu Okeke.
The new moderator, Rev. Okeke said the church condemned in its entirety the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold same-sex marriage, noting that it was against the law of God which insisted on the union of man and woman and not any other way.
