*Says 70% Church Facilities Destroyed In Northeast
The President of Ekklisiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria, EYN (Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), Rev. Samuel Dali, has disclosed that no fewer than 8,000 of his members have been killed by members of the Boko Haram in the North-East zone of the country.
He, however, expressed hope that the war against Boko Haram would be won.
The cleric said aside the massacre of his church members, 70% of church facilities in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States were destroyed in series of attacks championed by the insurgents.
Yan’uwa was, however, optimistic that President Muhammadu Buhari would end the activities of Boko Haram.
Speaking with journalists in his Jos office, the cleric lamented that most of the church’s pastors had lost their jobs as their places of worship had been burnt and members killed, adding that 176 of the kidnapped Chibok girls were his members.
“Nigeria will overcome the Boko Haram challenge soon.
‘70% of our churches have been destroyed in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states by Boko Haram; over 8,000 of our members were killed.
“176 of the girls kidnapped in Chibok are our members,” he revealed.
