NAF Reinvigorate Professionalism through Capacity Building
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar has unequivocally stated that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) under his leadership will reinvigorate professionalism through capacity building. Air Marshal Abubakar made the remark recently while addressing officers and men of the 79 Composite Group, NAF Maiduguri during his operational visit to the Unit.
The CAS maintained that his administration focus on professionalism was borne out of the fact that “if one is a professional, chances are high that he would survive more in the event of any problem”.
Speaking in the light of the on-going counter-
terrorism campaign against the Boko Haram sect
in the North East, Air Marshal Abubakar stated
that under his administration the NAF will come
up with training programmes that cut across the
entire NAF Specialties to enhance the capacity
of both the officers and men so that they can
better understand what is required of them.
“Our desire to reinvigorate professionalism is borne out of our understanding of the fact that for you to really function, you need knowledge”, the CAS said.
Aside the focus on professionalism, Air Marshal
Abubakar has assured that his administration will
also look at ways of enhancing the welfare of
NAF personnel.
The Chef also promised to do everything possible within the shortest time possible to alleviate the challenges of accommodation facing NAF personnel in Maiduguri.
