The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called for the immediate removal of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo.

The group in a statement on Sunday signed by Chris C. Ibe, the Public Relations Officer said: “The attention of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the National Youth Council of Nigeria has been drawn to a statement credited to one Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo that no election of the National Youth Council of Nigeria held on the 6th -8th August, 2015 Congress.

“The NEC observed that the statement by Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo who purportedly claimed to be the
National Youth Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, is highly embarrassing and remains strange in the activities of the NYCN considering the fact that Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo is
not a member of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and his purported position and mandate as National Youth Leader of the All Progressive
Congress does not include the supervision and speaking for the National Youth Council of
Nigeria, NYCN.

“It is important to categorically state here that, Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo is not a member of NYCN and he was not a delegate in the just concluded NYCN National Unity Congress which took place on 6th-8th August, 2015.

‘Having noted that the NYCN is not an affiliate of the All ProgressiveCongress, APC, it becomes most unfortunate and regrettable that Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo wants todrag the NYCN into conventional politics which runs against the principles, ethics and constitution of the NYCN.

“The NEC wishes to use this medium to educate Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo on the activities and operations of the National Youth Council of Nigeria having noticed that he lacks basic ideas and knowledge on the difference between the National Youth Council of Nigeria and the All
Progressive Congress.

“The NYCN is an umbrella body that coordinates all youth activities in Nigeria through its affiliate
members (Voluntary Youth Organizations and State Chapters of the NYCN) and at our last check, the All Progressive Congress youth arm is
not an affiliate.

‘The NYCN runs a viable and recognized constitution that guides its operations and anybody who is ignorantly talking about NYCN outside the constitution of the Council ends up embarrassing himself and the organization he represents.

“At this point we wish to call on the All Progressive Congress, APC, which Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo claims to represent as National Youth Leader, to stand up and save the party from this monumental embarrassment by calling Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo to order since he lacks the basic idea and knowledge of his constitutional
mandate as National Youth Leader of All Progressive Congress, APC.

“The fact remains that the All Progressive Congress, APC has brought great and immense
hope to the entire Nigerian youths with their message of change and we can not stay back and watch one Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo who does not
understand the message of change to take us back to the wilderness falsehood and misrepresentation.

“It is on record that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, through its agents suffocated the council by making sure that no leadership
existed but with the message of change and President Mohammadu Buhari as president, the newly elected National Executive Committee as
led by Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere will deliver quality leadership and representation to
the entire Nigerian youths.

“The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere is committed to the anti-corruption campaign of President Buhari and no distraction can stop him from supporting President Buhari from sweeping
Nigeria of corruption’, the statement read.
