Gunman who killed two Virginia journalists, Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, a cameraman, while on live broadcast according has killed himself, TheStreetReporters.com has learnt.
The duo who worked for their station, WDBJ died, while the person they were interviewing, Vicki Gardner, was wounded and underwent surgery, and was listed in stable condition.
They were covering a story at Bridgewater Plaza, a lakeside shopping and recreational sports plaza in Moneta when shots rang out.
After leading the police on a high-speed pursuit, the gunman shot himself in the head, and later died, officials said.
The journalists were shot to death Wednesday morning while broadcasting live from at the strip mall in Moneta, Va., near Roanoke.
Video from the shooting, which appeared to show the television crew from WDBJ7 in Roanoke being attacked, was allegedly posted by their killer online before he committed suicide.
“This is a horrific day for our family and the community we serve,” the station’s chief meteorologist, Brent Watts, said in a tweet.
