Osanebi Applauds Gov Okowa’s Commitment to Maintaining Law, Order
The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, has commended Governor Ifeenyi Okowa and the Executive council of Delta State Government for their unalloyed commitment to maintaining law and order in order to boost investor’s confidence in Delta State.
Hon. Friday Osanebi gave the commendation when speaking with news men shortly after a one-day stakeholders summit on vandalism of oil and gas facilities and installations with the theme, “security and environmental challenges in oil and gas sector in Delta State – the way forward,” at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) conference hall, Effurun.
The Deputy Speaker maintained that governor Okowa has demonstrated an unchecked zeal and commitment for ensuring a peaceful Delta State. ”
Governor Okowa has demonstrated unrestrained zeal and passion in ensuring a peaceful Delta State where investment can strive”. Osanebi, said.
He further commended the government’s strategy of engaging community based individuals in securing oil and gas facilities in their areas, adding that such strategic alliance between host communities in oil producing areas, the international Oil companies (IOCs) and security agencies in securing oil and gas investments in the state will not just enhance peaceful operation but prosperity of all Deltans.
He commended the governor and organizers of the summit, noting that the benefits from the summit can not be quantified, because the summit has provide insight and had proffered solutions to the types of threats faced by oil and gas installations and the understanding of the various threat groups, the dangers they represent, amongst others. “With the secrets revealed today, I think we are in for a better year ahead, despite the imminent challenges posed by oil price in the international market.
He further called on youths and individuals involved in vandalism of oil and gas installations to shun such acts, stating that it’s not just criminal but a demonstration of Ignorance.
