N64 billion Birthday ‘Gift’ For Tinubu
Political associates of former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, says it will raise N64 billion as a birthday gift for the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, the the allies said the money will go into helping less privileged Nigerians, including the physically challenged, internally displaced persons and the aged.
The group, All Progressive Congress Urban-Rural Self Employment and Poverty Eradication Nationwide, said the initiative would help in alleviating poverty in the country.
According to the chairman of the group, Daniel Mwanmut, said in a press statement on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, the initiative was to mark Tinubu’s 64th birthday, celebrated on Tuesday in Abuja.
“APCURSEPEN programme is aimed at boosting investment in masses oriented housing scheme for workers pensioners, farmers Artisans, traders transporters, physically challenged persons (IDP’s) especially in northern Nigeria and particularly in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Kaduna states, in view of the ungodly activities of Boko Haram insurgents, cattle rustlers and communal violence.
“APCURSEPEN programme is aimed at mobilizing wealthy members of the All Progressive Congress and public spirited individuals to support creating self-employment opportunities for our youth and to boost poverty eradication in the 774 local Government Areas in Nigeria”.
The statement also said the facility would be accessed through Tinubu’s cooperative society, named Made Easy Cooperative Society ABATHOME.
