APC’s Dikko Wins Bwari Area Council Election
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council chairmanship election, Musa Dikko, has been declared winner of the Bwari Area Council after Saturday’s council elections in the FCT.
He defeated his closet rival, Andrew Gwani of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The area council had a total of 162,786 registered voters, but that only 33,162 voters were accredited for the election.
Mr Abubakar Abba, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the election in the council area, announced the result in Bwari on Sunday.
According to him, Dikko polled 18,066 votes to win the election, while the PDP’s candidate scored 13,279 votes.
Other candidates in the election in which 32,662 voters participated, the Returning Officer announced, were Mr Wada Abdu of Action Alliance and Kenneth Olabaniji of Citizens Popular Party (CPP), who garnered 93 votes and 72 votes, respectively.
