Is Virus That Causes #COVID19 Airborne? NCDC Answers
On the possibility that the virus that causes COVID-19 is airborne, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in continuation of its response to the challenges of public health emergencies and to enhance Nigeria’s preparedness and response to epidemics through prevention, detection and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic has responded.

The NCDC noted in a tweet via its official twitter handle monitored by The Street Reporters Newspaper that the virus that causes #COVID19 is NOT airborne.
NCDC added that “based on studies, droplets that spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes, land on nearby surfaces.”
The centre urged Nigerian residents to “maintain a social distance of 2 metres always & if you are ill wear a face mask to avoid infecting others.”
According to NCDC, the COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans. It was first reported to WHO on the 31st of December, 2019 in Wuhan, China.
