With the COVID19 epidemic ravaging the world and infecting almost two million people and killing thousands of others, the race to not only find a cure but also a vaccine against the virus.
One of the major breakthrough in managing the Coronavirus disease became possible as a result of collaborative efforts globally through idea sharing as the disease is still being studied.
However, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has in a tweet disclosed that there are many drugs in clinical trial as scientists work towards finding a cure for #COVID19.
“Some have shown promising results in lab studies but have not yet been proven in humans”, the NCDC added.
Some of those drugs in clinical trial include chloroquine, which Nigerian authorities have reportedly given approval for its production.
To the end, the NCDC was warned citizens of engaging in self-medication as it is dangerous to health.
“Please avoid self-medication as it may lead to complications & death.
“#TakeResponsibility”, the NCDC counselled.
