Suspected murderer, cultist and kidnapper, Cyril Bassey CY, who was declared wanted by the Cross River State government for gang violence and deaths in Calabar South has been released.

The Street Reporters Newspaper gathered that plans are underway to swear him in as the Councillor representing Ward 6 in Calabar South LGA, this week.

According to a report by CrossRiverWatch, though he was declared wanted over the killing of scores in Calabar South, pressure from CY’s political godfathers in government cowed the Police to rather charge him for conspiracy, so they can secure his bail in court and have him sworn in as councilor while the case in court continues.

Having secured the deal, CY was arraigned in a magistrate court in Calabar last week for conspiracy and belonging to a secret cult.

Himself and three of his accomplice were promptly granted bail by the court and he is getting set to become a lawmaker this week.
