Mba also cautioned the Oyo State police command “against any form of complacency,” adding that “all hands must be on deck to bring the case to a positive and successful closure.”

Shodipe had confessed that he was sent on the killing mission by a herbalist who was also arrested by the police but the man denied his claims.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, had earlier confirmed the development to the newsmen.

SP Fadeyi said: “The suspect has been rearrested and is currently in police custody.”

Shodipe (19), who is suspected to have killed about six women at Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, escaped from the Mokola police station on Tuesday, August 11.
