It gladdens my heart that women, accomplished, high performing and caring ones are gradually breaking the Glass Ceilings in politics. A Senator in the United States of America, Kamala Harris, a black, a former Attorney General of the state of California will soon become the Vice President of the United States. This, definitely is no mean accomplishment.

A lawyer by training, who also ran for the Democratic Party Presidential ticket has been attributed with a lot achievements, reforms and delivery of excellent policies while she occupied her previous positions.

This is indeed very remarkable, as this is the first ever Woman Vice President in the history of the United States. And she is black; of Indian mother, and a Jamaican Dad. What will also gladden your heart on a personal level is that she is an in-law to Anambra State. Her Junior sister is married to one of our brothers from Anambra State.

It was said that her being on the Biden ticket brought this landslide to the Democratic Party Presidential ticket. The ticket garnered 74 million votes from American voters, the highest ever popular vote by any ticket in an American Presidential election.

One of the greatest contributions of her’s in the ticket is the mobilization of more than 40 million, 45% of them black women who massively voted for the Democratic Party. It’s unprecedented.

Anambra on The Match With Another Great Performer

It’s no more news that Anambra State will be having their Governorship election by 2021. And from available statics, and pollings, PDP is poised to stage a grand comeback in the State, after more than fourteen years, trying…and it’s doable. 80% of the time, Candidates win elections for the party.

That is the major reason why it is extremely important, and needful that PDP gets it right this season, so as to accomplish the mission into Agu Awka; that has eluded the party for fourteen years now with three different Candidates. There will be no price too much to pay by the party for the sake of hundreds of thousands of party faithful who have looked at the promised land without stepping their foot into it. No season is better, no time is more precious than now.

Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife, (Iyom) has stepped up in Grand style for the onerous task of bringing glory back to PDP in Anambra State. She won the Senate for the Party, and she is poised to bring the main jewel, the crown, the key to Agu Awka if given the ticket.. Boring one with her unprecedented Developmental accomplishments which are dotted all over Anambra will be sounding repetitive.

However, there are few characteristics that stand out which enders her Ecclesiastically to millions of Anambrarians. When I saw the roads Iyom has currently attracted to Anambra State this season, to enable our people celebrate the Christmas in peace, I was very glad. I saw many motorists expressing joy and happiness, as they will once again enjoy motorable highways across Anambra State.

Today, Amawbia – Ekwulobia Federal Road is receiving massive facelift. There are about other six major roads within Awka metropolis, and other areas in Idemmili North and South, Aniocha, and Dunukofia that are equally receiving very prompt attentions; thanks to Senator Uche Ekwunife’s benevolence who attracted such from the Federal Government. These indeed are no mean accomplishments.

Only few days ago, at Oba in Idemmili South Local Government, Iyom displayed yet another emphatic character when she laid the foundation of a 3 Bedroom bungalow for a widow, whose house collapsed. When I saw the joy in the window’s glowing face, tears sprung from my eyes. What, love, I exclaimed.

In some Communities that make up her Senatorial District like Nnokwa, Alor, as well as in Aniocha and Awka North and South, street lights now adorn their roads. Their rural markets now extend far into the night as Lights are now shown in such hitherto rural areas that have not witnessed such, before.

Indeed, Iyom na eme mma! She is doing nke afuru n’anya! Employment of our youths who have graduated, to her is Creed, and a Godly duty. It pains her to see the youth roaming the streets, unemployed. For her, this is another extra burden for parents who have done all they could and spent millions to see their wards and children through school.

Yes, it is true that there are other aspirants in PDP who have also stepped out. Will it not be in the interest of the party to look at the larger picture; the key to Agu Awka and consider someone whose reach, performance in all the offices held, Political network, caring attitude and demeanor; financial capacity and ability in the person of Iyom Senator Uche Ekwunife and Support her to go get the success for the party.

I know Iyom, she is imbued with an emphatic and understanding character, and she posseses the necessary attributes to attract massive support for the Party from the 1.8 million Ndi Anambra who are in a possession of their PVCs; which is the weapon to take PDP back to Anambra State Government House come 2021.

Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife is home with the people, as she was born among them, (Igboukwu) grew up among them, (Onitsha), went to school among them, and equally married among Ndi Anambra.(Nri) More than all these, she has worked among them, and also represented Ndi Anambra. They know her, she knows them.

Iyom is not just a politician, she is an accomplished Banker, a Chartered Accountant, and a business woman of note who is into the hospitality business, Infrastructure Development, manufacturing and Estate Development. Iyom nwelu Ife O na alu, aside being a Technocrat. Iyom is multi-talented, handles all tasks given to her with extreme dexterity, and does not fail in whatever assignment she sets her mind to do. Anambra State will witness an unprecedented Developmental trajectory if given the opportunity to oversee the Affairs of Anambra State..

An accomplished Banker, and now a super performing Senator of the Federal Republic, after eight solid years of unprecedented achievement in the Federal House of Representatives. Iyom has all it takes as well as the local content and attributes to win the Governorship, when the election will be conducted. Iyom’s unmatched mobilizational efforts are second to none. She can bring that Trophy for the party.

Another Kamala Harris in the making….Iyom will never disappoint; women who excel. Now is time.

Time for a Woman to break the political glass ceiling of Nigeria, by being the first Woman elected Governor is now…as we say everywhere in Anambra, KA NWANYI JEKENE, or some now found it more convenient; KA IYOM JEZIENU, KA ANYI FU IHE DICHE.
