Ituah Ighodalor: When Nigeria Turned 60

Spread the love

By Dr Bolaji O. Akinyemi

I met Pastor Ituah Ighodalor sometime in 2018 when my passion for Nigeria was brought to the winepress of Legacy Initiative International to be juiced to grace the bottles of their bartenders and cups of drunkenness. I was schemed out of a scheduled stakeholders meeting where our sincere efforts would be made a mere merchandise by the greedy and gluttonous. I had reached Ighodalor personally to be our guest at the event which was held at Oriental Hotel.

On Arrival, he looked for me. He bothered to ask after me. Those who had threatened my life if I showed up at the event told Pastor that I had fallen sick and couldn’t make the event. But the pastor in Pastor Ituah did what should be done. He reached out to check on the “sick” only to discover that I was hale and hearty and full of energy.

Our mischief makers will no longer be spared. Their roles in 2019 must be exposed as we approach 2023. This, I have chosen to do in a book titled: “Scripting A Nation To Greatness.” And this will be my own 55th birthday present to Nigeria.

In one of my several privileged meetings I had with Pastor Ituah on the Nigeria project, I had learnt of his mother’s passion for a country she served graciously as the first female permanent secretary (if I still have my story lines right). At the feet of Pastor Ituah the word OLIGARCH was brought home to me in the perspective of his late mother. That word and the meaning it conveyed is mama’s legacies that you graciously shared with me. It has never left me but has further reinforced my resolve to see a free nation.

Pastor was on hand when I dreamt of the need to take over NANS. He gave support to my drive to see leadership evolution taken to where it belongs – The Nigerian youths. Thank you for all you are doing to see a great nation. May that nation be your 70th birthday from the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus.

Our Independence anniversary celebration in October last year was bereft of glory, glamour and glitz. There was no memory to relish nor visionary words from the government of the day to impregnate the future. The damsel was left alone on her night of ovulation. However, on the 5th of April, the Easter Monday of 2021, a day before Pastor Ituah Ighodalor’s 60th birthday, he had appeared as Moses did 30 years late in God schedule for Israel’s freedom. He did on the Arise TV to make the night of the day a memorable one for the beautiful bride left desolate by her many fake and irresponsible lovers. Ighodalor showed his love for the nation and impregnated the future with hope.

Like Jesus and his 12 disciples, Ighodalor sits atop of the board of 12 NGOs. That leadership enriched his moment on the Arise TV. Using Reuben Abati as a point of contact for a generation that must go beyond waiting for appointments and take the bull by the horn to run for elections, he prophesied to him that he would be the president of Nigeria. In Tundun, he charged the #EndSARS generation when he said she should see possibility in her becoming the first female governor of Ogun State. With Oseni he tactically endorsed the entitlement of priest to tithes and offerings without generating any argument.

His message was clear. It is time to engage our oppressors, look them in the face and tell them let my people go. We must ask them why recommendations are padded before they get to the council.

He charged the Ibo nation: “You have what it will take to make your region the Dubai of Africa. Pull yourself together and do it!”

He was shocked at what the Oligarchs had chosen to make the topic for their Southern elites political slave and our nation as a whole in the millennium; what a shame! How can what is not good for the cows and the Fulani boys occupy our national discourse? With 12 million of our children out of school majority of whom are roaming the streets with cows, trekking from Sokoto to Saki. In an age when all it take to go to school is a smartphone. We should just ask the boys back to school and the cows to ranch.

“We know the gate keepers in Nigeria. We know the people that are holding the country at its jugular. There are not too many of them for us to name and shame. We must start speaking up and speaking specifically. It is folly for us to believe that our colonial masters who stole us dry has our interest at heart. Why do we keep entrusting our country to them to work?

“We know the people who are not allowing Nigeria to work. We know what they have done and are doing. But enough is enough. We must call them out. Why are we hiding them? These are people who must not come to power again. This is my crusade! I will pray, fast and fight them.” Pastor was all out to see the nation of his mother’s dream.

Let me assure Pastor Ighodalor that he is not alone in this fight. Nigerians are ready to fight and the ring for the fight has been built and made strong to give victory to the people. I can only plead here publicly with pastor as he did with Father Kukah to honour us when we call upon him to come and lead the People’s Parliament when these persons who want to be
presidents and governors are asked to come tell the people why they want to be whatever they want to be.

People’s Parliament will debut on the 12th of June 2021 to give equal opportunities to everyone in the race for leadership of the house of Nigeria. We will start with the Yahayas; Alhaji Yahaya Ndu, a presidential aspirant from Enugu State and His Excellency the Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bello, both we standing before the parliament to state details of the leadership they plans to provide; Dr Charles Ogheneruonah Eghweree as the clerk of the parliament and Rt Hon. Joseph Ekpenhio, former speaker, Edo State House of Assembly as the speaker of PVC-NAIJA People’s Parliament maiden edition that will be sitting in Benin City, Edo State South South Nigeria.

While our fingers remain crossed, earnestly waiting, may I wish Nigeria happy delivery of Pastor Ituah Ighodalor’s baby in her womb and a very happy 60th birthday to the quintessential pastor. May you live long for us sir! Amen.
