Isu Widows in Tears As Imo Diaspora Office, Isu Youths Join Forces

Imo State Diaspora Office in collaboration with Isu Youth Assembly (IYA) in commemoration of IYA President’s birthday, reached out to Widows across the 4 old communities in Isu Local Government. The communities include Amandugba, Amurie, Ekwe and Isu’Njaba.

The President of IYA (Isu Youth Assembly) Comrade Emerenini Ndubuisi was on ground in Isu to receive the Staff of Imo Diaspora Office. 

One of the Widows who benefited from the gesture has been down with stroke for a while.

A cash award to the widows is expected to support them in their daily upkeeps or to start a small scale trade.

The beneficiaries were visibly overwhelmed with happiness amidst tears of joy.

The President of IYA offered his immense gratitude for the collaboration with the Imo State Diaspora Office and stated that he looked forward to more partnerships on future activities in Isu LGA.

In a chat with Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Diaspora Affairs, she revealed that her idea of politics is built on the principles of putting smiles on people’s faces and making the world a better place for all.

Hon. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert in her efforts through her office, and as Isu daughter and a youth, has from time to time made Isu Youth Assembly platform vibrant and lively through her kind gestures.

“We are working hard to ensure that we are focused on community services beyond political divides given the fact that We the young people are the future hope and the bedrock of getting things right”, Hon. Osakwe-Hibbert said.

Speaking on her community engagement projects, she added, “I will continue to mobilize the Imo Diaspora communities to collaborate with my office so that we can organise various activities across all LGA’s through the Young People Forums”.

The SA Diaspora opined that most of the local online platforms are being used for political commentaries and she believes it can be used to promote community activisms by defining a purpose driven mentality and attitude in the area.

The Isu Youth Assembly President, Comrade Emerenini Ndubuisi, while commending Hon. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, noted that “so far, Isu Youth Assembly appreciates your selfless efforts and contributions towards a better Isu and we pray God Almighty to continue to guide and give you more blessings.”
