Katsina State’s Fifth Phase of COVID19 Palliatives Distribution Kicks off at Katsina North Senatorial District
In its fifth phase of Katsina State‘s distribution, no fewer than five vulnerable households have been selected from each ward in Katsina North Senatorial District, otherwise referred to as the Daura senatorial zone, to benefit from the ongoing grains palliative provided by National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The Chairman of the State Distribution Committee, the Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu, who represented by the Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Tasi’u Musa Maigari while flagging off the distribution exercise in Ingawa Local Government noted that the purpose was to provide succour to the people considering the ravaging effect of COVID-19 pandemic on social well-being of the citizens, particularly the most vulnerable ones in the society.
According to him, since the outbreak of the pandemic the state government and some philanthropic organizations have been making concerted efforts towards bringing respite to the people.
He called on people of the state to continue to offer prayers for sustainable peace, progress and development of the state and the nation as a whole.
On his part, the member representing Ingawa Local Government at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Suleman Tune, called on the beneficiaries of the phase five of the COVID-19 palliative distribution to make judicious use of the commodities.
In the same vein, the Director, Administration and Finance at the Ingawa Local Government, Idris Balarabe Bindawa pledged commitment to ensuring even distribution of the commodities in order to reach out the targeted households in Katsina North Senatorial District.
