Eid-el-Fitr: ALGON National President Hon Alabi Kolade David Advocates For Peaceful Coexistence Amongst Muslims, Christians In Nigeria
The National President of the association of Local Governments Hon Alabi Kolade David has sent his goodwill message to all Muslim faithfuls as they celebrate this year’s Eid- El-Fitri.
In his message from his Abuja Media Office, the National President observed that this year’s event is one that must be used to bring together both Muslim, Christians and pagans together to reflect the true virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SWT) who according to him had good relationship with all alike no matter the coloration.
He said that the gains of Ramadan must be reflected in the lives of all faithfuls moving forward so as to be a good model capable of attacking various challenges facing the country together from individuals, families, home front to Governments, as such will assist in overcoming them through conscientious resolve of all no matter the ethnic, religious or social linings.
He said that Local Governments and Councils in Nigeria are the fulcrum of valid examples and hence owe it as a duty to support the efforts of the Federal and States Governments to overcome all it’s challenges.
Alabi further harps on peaceful and harmonious coexistence amongst all and to disregard all acts capable of causing disunity or all manner of disaffection.
He used the occasion to condemn in strong terms the height of incedarary comments, unpatriotic dispositions and rising incidences of killings, kidnapping and banditry across the country.
He said that the moment calls for deeper introspection on key elements of peace building to guarantee the safeguards of lives and property as well as supporting the efforts of the Governments in other to encourage them to do more towards nation building.
