NSE Visits UBOTEX, Seeks Support for Building of National Engineering Center Annex in Uyo

The Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch, Engr. Ukeme Okpob has lauded UBOTEX Nigeria Limited on its giant strive in road construction and meeting up to Government yardsticks in job delivery.

Okpob also appealed to UBOTEX Nigeria Limited for support and the ground breaking ceremony for the building of National Engineering Center Annex in Uyo/Branch Secretariat Complex which is to take place on 28th July, 2021 during the NSE Uyo 2021 Engineering Conference and Annual General Meeting.

The appeal was made on Wednesday when he led Executive Committee Members and Senior Engineers of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch to a courtesy visit to the MD/CEO of UBOTEX Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ubong Obot in his office in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

NSE Visits UBOTEX, Seeks Support for Building of National Engineering Center Annex in UyoEngr. Okpob invited Mr. Ubong Obot to NSE Uyo 2021 Engineering Conference and Annual General Meeting and appealed to Mr Obot to release Engineers from UBOTEX Nigeria Limited to participate in the programme.

He appreciated the MD/CEO for employing resourceful Engineers from Akwa Ibom State, saying that the expertise of local Engineers have not in any way been in doubt.

He appealed to the MD/CEO of UBOTEX Nigeria Limited to always encourage and facilitate active participation of all Engineers working in his company to participate in capacity building seminars, engineering workshops, conferences and further Studies that will keep them at a competitive edge with their contemporaries globally.

“As much as government plans to grade contractors that will be handling its road projects into different categories depending on their technical ability and precision of delivery, we believe strongly, with your modern fleet of construction equipment and a team of highly trained and experienced engineers and professional staff, you
will continually scale up to be amongst the very best”.

Engr. Okpob stressed that every new skill acquired will add up to the efficiency in job delivery which is of higher advantage to the company and growth of Engineering profession.

He noted that Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch has grown world class professionals, thus conferring on dignity and respect to the society, adding that the role of Engineering cannot be over emphasized in the transformation of Akwa Ibom State infrastructural and economic development.

Responding, the MD/CEO of UBOTEX Nigeria Limited Mr Ubong Obot commended members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch for the courtesy visit and appreciated all Engineers for their patronage giving to his company.

He explained that he enjoys working with Engineers from Akwa Ibom State, saying that Akwa Ibom people are endowed with good potential. “All we need is support of a destiny helper who will introduce you to opportunities”.

Mr. Obot encouraged Engineers from Akwa Ibom State to always make use of quality materials for construction to maintain professionalism and to update with latest technology to meet up with the global standard.

He appreciated His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for his gesture of engaging some Local Engineering Firms to participate in the ongoing infrastructural development projects in the State.

He assured to continuously support support Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch and donated some building materials for the society Secretariat project and promised to donate more as the project progresses.

Highpoint of the courtesy visit was a tour around the construction site of UBOTEX Nigeria Limited as well as presentation of message of goodwill to the company.
