Anambra 2021: ADC Unveils Pastor Law Ughamadu as ADC Governorship Candidate’s Running Mate
…As Pastor Law Gets Endorsement as Youth Mandate in Anambra
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Anambra State, has released the official picture of Pastor Lawrence Ughamadu who was picked as the governorship running mate to Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo.
Fondly called Pastor Law, he was born 1973 and hails from Nibo town in Anambra Central Senatorial District.
He is a Dominion City Church Pastor and a protégé of the convener of the National Youth Summit and President of Dominion City Church, Rev. (Dr) David Ogbueli.
Over the years, Pastor Law has planted and pastored numerous churches in various states of Nigeria including Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra and Edo states. He is the director of Dominion City’s “Operation Anambra Church Planting Mission”.
By dint of hard work and the grace that God gave to him, Pastor Law has raised numerous youths, who are excelling in their chosen fields of endeavor.
He was chosen after careful considerations and deliberations within the party.
Pastor Law was presented to the ADC flag bearer Nze Nwankpo who had earlier asked the party to choose a running mate for him.
Nwankpo had an option to pick whoever he wanted, but chose to involve the party in deciding who to run with.
Pastor Law got the nod because he is a Pentecostal Pastor with an unblemished track record.
The ADC governorship running mate is an old boy of the prestigious Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha.
Pastor Law holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Accounting from the Enugu State University, and MBA from the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
Also, he has bagged many Professional Certificates in Leadership and Transformation Studies.
Pastor Law is a distinguished man of God, Youth Advocate, Social Critic and seen by many as Philanthropist extraordinaire.
His emergence as running mate of the party was endorsed by the Nigerian youths who recently adopted the ADC as the youth’s one party system nationally.
During the party’s governorship primary election in Awka, Anambra State, the Nigerian youths had on June 30, 2021 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Democratic Party (ADC), formalising the adoption of the party as the Nigerian youth’s single party system for all young candidates not above 50 years seeking election in the country.
Due to the fact that no young person picked the ADC governorship form for the primary, the party, in fulfilment of the terms of the MoU, narrowed the choice of a running mate to the ADC candidate to a female or male youth leader in the state.
Speaking on the unveiling of the ADC governorship candidate’s running mate, the Global Director General of the Nigeria Youth Headquarters NYCSRF and President Coalition of All Young Candidates in Nigeria and Diaspora, Hon. Vincent Anthony Ubani in a special message on Sunday formally endorsed the Deputy Governorship candidature of the ADC, Pastor Law.
According to Hon. Ubani, while referring to part of the terms of the MoU, there is something that should make all to Nigerian youths, mothers and ladies join the ADC “in Anambra State in order to change Anambra State positively from the old politicians games to a new era of young generation where 70% of youths and women will occupy the positions to run the Government and give new face to the good people of Anambra State.
On this note the office of the Global Director General, Hon. Ubani confirmed to the entire youths groups and organisations with women in Anambra State to that a youth mandate has been adopted as the ADC candidate’s running mate.
He therefore urged the youths and women to “arise and shine for a new era is about to emerge in the Agu-Awka Government House where we shall take charge in Governance of the State not by connection” but because “those who sow in tears must reap in Joy.”
He noted that “After all complains, reports and agitations and consultations, I Hon. Vincent Anthony Ubani Global Director General, hereby stand to confirm that the ADC government in Anambra State will be run in accordance to the MoU terms and conditions.
The Global Director General Hon Vincent Anthony Ubani and the ADC State Youth Leader Amb. Oge and Deputy State Youth Leader Amb. Vivian Oluchi with Head of the Spiritual arm of the national youth group, Apostle Francis and all others stakeholders of the Anambra State Youth Takeover Leadership are expected to meet with “the Youth Takeover Leadership Mandate incoming Deputy Governor and His Excellency Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo to have the clear list for the forming of the new Government.
“In conclusion, the Global Director General hereby request that all Stakeholders of the Youth Takeover Leadership in the Federation and Diaspora are to as a matter of urgency process the terms and conditions as stated inside the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as signed, which the top priority step to take is for all (youths and women) to fulfill the payment of N13, 000 (ADC membership registration fees) into the African Democratic Congress ADC National Account as a full one year party dues and membership/Registration fees for all beneficiaries of the 70% rights in African Democratic Congress ADC both at the National, State, LGAs and Wards, both in the party structures and the government structures.”
He therefore expressed optimism that the ADC, its candidate and his running mate shall emerge victorious at the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, adding “it is our duty to play our own roles towards the success of Youth Takeover Leadership in Anambra State.”
