Bello Administration and Infrastructural Revolution: Amazing Sights As Inspection Team Visits Kogi East
As part of efforts to ensure strict compliance with standard and timely completion of ongoing infrastructural projects by the Governor Yahaya Bello administration in Kogi State, the inspection team of the State Ministry of Works and Housing led by Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere visited the Kogi East Senatorial District.
Projects inspected included the completed work on the 31km Ibana-okpo ikeje Ogugu ete road constructed by Governor Yahaya Bello led Administration and that of 55.4km idah Ugwolao, Ejule/Anyigba and Ankpa to Abejukolo as asphalt overlay commenced by TEC Engineering Co Ltd are nearing completion stage.
At Ankpa, The commissioner for works and housing, Engr. Ohere, thanked the people of Ankpa for their hospitality and the cooperation extended to the contractor and the resident engineers, that led to the early completion of the township road projects assuring them of the Governor’s commitment to the completion of the little finishing works and prepare them for commissioning soon.
While at Ogugu, the commissioner commended the giant stride of Governor Bello for the unprecedented approach deployed in tackling the menace of gully erosion across the state citing the 18km Adum to Ogugu roads, Okegbi, Alasha Communities all in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.
The reclamation works over the devastated area are fully achieved with ongoing mitigation measures to stabilize the area for effective utilisation.
All the 18 kilometer roads inspected aside reclaimed gully are fitted with adequate drainages stone pitching and bioremediation works, Engr. Ohere added.
Meanwhile, Anyigba Ejule-Idah final portions are undergoing surface dressing before final asphalt overlay.
Addressing the contractor , the commissioner advised the company to consider essential drain works as they progress in to the town to give way for a stable finishing.
Also inspected at the Day two of the projects inspection tour was the renovation and expansion work of both the KSU teaching hospital and that of the Idah specialist hospital.
The commissioner for works and housing commended wholeheartedly the progress of works at the sites.
At KSU teaching hospital the Honorable Commissioner commended the state Government for the prompt release of funds to contractor.
This, he said, was borne out of the Governor’s determination to ensure qualitative medical learning facilities and environment.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far and its quality.
All these he said, are measures by the Governor Yahaya Bello administration towards positioning Kogi state as a megacity.
And observers are of the belief that given the pace of rapid development Kogi state is witnessing, Governor Bello may likely push Kogi to attain the megacity status even before the 2024 with this level of Infrastructural development.
