Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, has applauded Governor Okowa Administration for its giant strides in repositioning the education sector in the state.
Ezewu gave the commendation in her office in Asaba while fielding questions from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigeria News Television Channel, Mr. Seun Akinde.
The commissioner stated that the administration had continued to provide infrastructure in public secondary schools so as to make teaching and learning environment conducive since its inception in 2015.
Ezewu said that the initiative was geared towards addressing the issue of out of school children, adding that in a bid to ensure that teachers were effectively trained in line with the modern trends, the Okowa Administration established the Teachers Professional Development Centre (TPDC) at Owa-Oyibu in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.
While saying that 1000 science teachers were employed and deployed to rural areas to impact on the grassroots, Mrs. Ezewu described the governor as a pragmatic, God fearing and focused leader who had the interest of Deltans at heart, irrespective of their ethnic background.
