National Convention: Why PDP Will Emerge Bigger, Stronger from Crisis – Delta Chairman
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State Chapter, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, has said that the party would come out of its present challenges to emerge bigger and stronger after the party’s National Convention.
Esiso stated this on Wednesday while addressing members of the Isoko North Chapter of the party at the party’s secretariat in Ozoro.
He said that the party had put to rest all issues bothering it and resolved to conduct a National Convention to elect new National Executives.
The Chairman who was in company of State Secretary, Engr. Daniel Ossai, State Organising Secretary, Chief Sunday Onoriode and State Youth Leader, Hon. Bino Obowomano, congratulated members of the party for their victory in the last by-election in the constituency, assuring that the party would remain transparent and accountable to the people.
“I am very happy to be here today, the last time I came here was during the last by-election.
“Let me thank you all, for the support you shown by coming out enmasse to vote for us in the last by election.
“We were not surprised because Isoko North is home to PDP and what we have achieved here is because we have a very strong leadership in Hon. Leo Ogor.
“I thank you and urge that we must continue in this spirit because with the calibre of people I have seen here today, it shows there is no other party in the local government.
“Let us continue to remain united in support of our leader as we move towards 2023.
A few weeks ago our party was embroiled in crisis at the National level but I want to assure you that those problems have been put to rest.
“I was in Abuja for NEC and we agreed that all issues should be put aside while a National Convention will be organised in Abuja at the end of October.
“Pray that the result of the Convention will make our party stronger and bigger,” he stated.
He recalled that the party promised to reward Wards that performed well in the by-election, adding that all the wards delivered as the party won in all the wards and polling units in the LGA.
He congratulated Emevor, Ellu and Iyede 2 Wards for coming out first, second and third respectively.
“We are determined to run the party as promise keepers just as our governor is a promise keeper.
“We have kept to our promise, am happy with you all and it is my prayer that you will re-enact this feat in the 2023 general elections,” Esiso added.
Member Representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, thanked party faithful for their support over the years, adding that he remained committed to the ideals of the party towards making life meaningful for the people.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman Isoko North PDP, Prince Godwin Ogorugba commended the State Chairman and his entourage for their contributions to the victory of the party in the April 10, By-election.
He said the PDP won in all the units across the 13 wards in the Local Government Area and lauded party leaders led by Hon. Leo Ogor for standing by the party’s candidate in the election.
