The day of Tributes and Commendation Service for the Late Acting Leader of Afenifere and a Prominent National Democratic Coalition Chieftain (NADECO), Senator Biyi Durojaiye was held at The Haven by Archbishop Vining Memorial Anglican Church Car Park, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State, yesterday, 15th September, 2021.
It was witnessed by a well organised and huge crowd inside a big capacity Hall, The Heaven, almost opposite the Police College and by the Car Park of Archbishop Vining Memorial Aglican Church, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Great Attendance: The Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun of Lagos and Ogun States were represented by their Deputies, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako Oyedele, both of whom came with the few members of the Cabinets from their respective States; his former School mate at Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State, and former military Governor of Rivers State, Gen. Sanmoni Lekewot (Rtd)
,Gen Alani Akinrinade (Rtd), Comrade Ayo Opadokun, Hon Wale Osun, Comrade Linus Okoroji, his 60 year old friend and Junior at Molusi College, Ijebu – Igbo, Prof Ayo Ogunye, Dr Wale Kukoyi of Molusi College, Chief Supo Shonibare, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Ogun East, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe among others.
The event which stated at exactly 4pm was brought to an end by 7pm. The Late Leader will be remembered for spending 560 in the maximum Prison at Apapa for wagging war against the Late Gen. Abacha Junta (over the criminal annulment of the June 1993 election by the military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida) with his ever Progressive Coallegues in Afenifere.
He was a very brilliant Student and Administrator, went to the Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State, a former Central Bank of Nigeria Director of Administration and a Board member of the same Bank. May the gentle soul of my Leader and Political Mentor of Decades rest in peace
The wake – keep and Interment take place at Ijebu – Igbo on Friday and Saturday respectively.
