Polling Unit By Polling Unit Campaign: APC Support Group For Andy Uba Holds Interactive Sessions in 2 Wards
As the countdown to the November 6 2021 governorship elections in Anambra State continues, events leading up to the election has shown that the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds all the aces.
Addressing a cross-section of crowd that cuts across party affiliations in wards 4 and 7 respectively in Onitsha North Local Government Area, the local government coordinator of the APC support group for Andy Uba, Hon Victor Mba expressed satisfaction at the massive turn out of party faithfuls and ward members during the session, pointing out that it does not require a seer to tell where victory will swing during the elections.
Hon Victor Mba stressed the need for eligible voters to obtain their permanent voters cards in readiness for the polls, adding that they should strive to win at their various polling booths to justify rewards for their hard work.
He enjoined party stalwarts to avoid divisive tendencies, close ranks and work with unity of purpose towards ensuring victory for Andy Uba at the forthcoming elections.
The APC support group for Andy Uba Coordinator explained that the commercial city of Onitsha was a veritable platform, for massive upliftment for all party members who contributed positively for Andy Uba’s victory at their various polling units. He promised that adequate logistic would be provided for the task, adding that members should endeavour to mobilise at least 10 prospective voters each at their polling booths on Election Day.
In his speech, a member of the national campaign committee for Anambra Elections and two-time member House of Representatives for Onitsha Federal Constituency, Hon Gozie Agbakoba noted that as it stands now, APC has continued to move from strength to strength and has attracted more members into its fold, adding that apart from the gale of defections witness recently in the state and the way the electorate is pulling for the party’s candidate at every turn, the party is moving into the election as one united family, a privilege that is not common among the other parties.
Hon Gozie who is also a Board of Trustee member of APC Ward-To-Ward Ambassadors (WWA) stated that the group has reviewed the voting pattern of previous election at the various wards and polling units and reiterated the group’s policy of Operation-Win-Your-Polling Unit mobilisation campaign strategy.
Also speaking, the zonal coordinator, APC Ward-To-Ward Ambassadors (WWA) for the South East and former Governorship Candidate for ACPN in the 2017 Anambra Governorship Elections, Comrade Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba noted that only a seasoned politician of Senator Andy Uba’s capacity has the reach, contact and passion necessary to fight an election as tough as Anambra Governorship and win. He noted that only APC out of the three frontline campaigns (i.e. APC, APGA and PDP) is yet to govern the state and is presently working hard to achieve it.
Comrade Ojiba explained that while APC was busy campaigning on issues, the other parties are comfortable peddling unfounded rumours, adding that none of them had diminished the party’s prospects in the coming elections. Ezennia Chukwudebelu who represented Senator Stella Oduah also stressed the need for Anambra to connect to the centre of power for benefit of Ndi Anambra.
An APC stalwart and former House of Assembly Candidate, Hon Nnabuenyi Jude Oniah pointed out that what APC has going for it in the coming election is cohesion, stressing that is the only major party in the election less distracted by intraparty wrangling. He noted further that Andy Uba has experience in terms of party election and has been a governor once and a Senator twice. He advocated for Family-To-Family, Door-To-Door neighbourhood canvassing strategy.
A popular youth leader in ward 4, Hon Achu Innoma called for all hands to be on deck towards ensuring victory for the Andy Uba project. The wards 4 and 7 coordinators, Hon Uwakwe Anthony and Mrs Oby Etukokwu respectively also spoke at the session.
