2023: Plans By (Edem) Nsukka Estranged Professor To Lead Some Professors To A Secret Meeting With Ekweremadu Leaked
…..”They Are Sabotuers”
By Chike Omenkpa (Enugu)
Baring any last minute change of plot ahead of 2023 governorship election in Enugu State, investigations have revealed that ex-deputy senate president and Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in ambition to contest for the state governorship seat, against the traditional zoning arrangement in Enugu State, has concluded plans to meet with a few compromised Nsukka Professors, among others from elsewhere, to be led by a Professor from Edem Ani to his house in Enugu on Sunday November 28, 2021.
One of the professors who was approached, but declined alleged that Ekweremadu had, through one Professor from Edem, approached him with financial gratification and promise of contracts and appointment.
“I told Ekweremadu and my colleague that brought him to me that I am not a cheap academic that can easily be deceived with false promises and pretences from a desperate politician that is desirous of creating political confusion in the state for selfish reason.
“The professor from Edem, who is the arrowhead of the proposed Sunday meeting with Ekweremadu in Enugu, is counting on Ekweremadu’s unrestrained but unrealistic promise to lift him up with a federal appointment”, he said.
In the same vein, a non-teaching highly placed administrative staff of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, who got wind of the ill-fated move, described the professor behind the meeting as a saboteur and an discerning greedy academic, adding that his action is “unbefitting of a true son of Nsukka”.
According to the non-teaching staff of the university, “These are shameless people, who are ready to sell their conscience for a peanut.
“How can a professor who is inclined to methodology and order fall prey to a desperate politician who is eager to destroy the traditional zoning of governorship seat in the state that has brought peace for his selfish pecuniary interest”, the staff said.
