ā¦As Engr. Abubakar Ohere Says Ongoing Road Construction in Lokoja, Fulfilment of Gov. Bello’s Second Term Promise to Impact More on Infrastructure Development
The commencement of work on the rehabilitation of the whole Lokoja township roads has been described as a fulfilment of Gov. Yahaya Bello promise to use his second term in office to impact more on the infrastructure development of Lokoja metropolis and the entire state.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere made the disclosure today during a routine visit of ongoing road infrastructure in Lokoja and other ongoing infrastructure development in the State Capital.
The Commissioner while inspecting the road construction work from the Maigari Palace through the traditional areas of Lokoja, described Gov. Yahaya Bello as a leader with rare credentials of a true Leader, committed to the welfare of his people.
He disclosed that the road construction which runs from the Maigari Palace to the adjoining link roads is currently receiving serious attention with full asphalt overlay.
He also noted that the roads from Government House to Zenith Bank Junctionis also undergoing rehabilitation, expressed happiness with the pace and quality of work on all the ongoing road construction.
Recall that during a recent inspection of work at the Ganaja Flyover Bridge, Gov. Bello had promised to speed up work on the Lokoja township roads that he is satisfied with the progress of work on the Ganaja Flyover.
Ohere commended the Governor for allowing the resumption on the Lokoja township roads, stating that the Governor has kept with his promise, said in addition to the ongoing flyover bridge the governor has given approval for the road construction work to resume.
Engr. Ohere described the ongoing development on Infrastructure in Lokoja as multidimensional, said the efforts of Gov Bello is not only aimed at road infrastructure, added that the ongoing embarkment along the bank of the River Niger in Kabawa is aimed at controlling the incessant flooding affecting the capital city in the past.
He also said that aside the work Ongoing at the GYB Model Science Secondary School, Adankolo, the Lokoja Civic Centre, the Commissioner added that work is also ongoing on the Lokoja street lights, while the beautification work on the street median is equally in progress.
Engr. Ohere described Gov. Bello as a man who is writing his name on the sands of time for the coming generation, described him as a rare Leader with a Midas touch, solicited the support of the people for his Presidential Aspiration.
Engr. Ohere disclosed that with the outstanding performances of Gov. Bello on security, the ongoing infrastructure development, and the unification of the people of the state, qualifies him as best leader the country has ever produced.
Projects inspected by Engr. Ohere includes the desilting of drainage at NTA – Kogi Cycle Road, NTA – Post Office – Ministry of Works Road, Cementary – Hydro Junction Road, Wallace – Maigeri – Old Central Mosque Road, and Stella Obasanjo – Government House Road.
The Commissioner also inspected cut out section of the failed section of roads with asphalt overlay of interior road networks within the Lokoja metropolis.
