One keeps wondering what is driving Ike Ekweremadu crazy and restless ahead of 2023 Enugu governorship election. Why is Ekweremadu gallivanting across the length and breadth of Enugu North Senatorial zone like a loose canon?
It patriotism, altruism, inordinate ambition or power intoxication? What is beclouding Ike’s political sagacity and sense of judgment?
What is it that is making him not to know his political limits and boundaries for now? What is making him think that he is now the super senator representing three Senatorial zones in Enugu state?
Is Ekweremadu being driven amok by his sycophants, hangers-on and bootlickers, who are already addressing him as His Excellency?
Maybe Ike is now mistaken himself as Governor- in-waiting or incoming Governor even when election has not been held.
If not, what informed his decision to embark on inspection of erosion sites at Ogwu-Obollo Afor-Obollo Oye- Obollo-Oye- Obollo-Nkwo and Obollo- Eke in Udenu LGA recently? When has Udenu become part of his senatorial zone?
Has Ekweremadu finished fixing the dilapidated gully erosion in his council area, constituency and senatorial zone?
Charity they say begins at home. Awgu LGA in Ike Ekweremadu senatorial zone is bedeviled with the highest number of worst gully erosion sites and ecological problems, how many of them has Ekweremadu fixed in almost 20 years of representing the zone in the Senate?
What happened to ecological fund due for the senatorial zone in almost 20 years of Ekweremadu’s representation?
Ike should know the limit of political chicanery and shenanigans. He is yet to be Governor. He should know his limits for now that 2023 election activities are yet to take off.
Inspection of a gully site just to score cheap popularity is tantamount to political subterfuge, deception and self delusion.
Ike should know that everybody cannot be deceived at the same time by the same person using the same tactics.
