— Describes Obi As Nigeria’s Best Choice
As the 2023 general elections draw closer, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has described the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as the best choice for Nigerians.
She noted that Obi represented a promising turning point for Nigeria’s democracy.
Ekwunife spoke on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Awka, during Obi’s consultation with members of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU).
She noted that the PDP’s Vice Presidential candidate in in 2019 would become one of the best Presidents the country has ever produced.
She expressed that the yearnings of the people across the country was for the Nigerian President of Igbo extraction.
Concerning the reason for the meeting, the A-grade lawmaker said that the man fondly called “Okwute” conveyed the meetings with the Anambra State Traditional Rulers and Council and members of Anambra state Association of Town Union (ASATU) to first, inform them of his intention to run for the office of the President and seek for their blessings.
According to the quintessential lawmaker, Obi remains a sellable brand with capacity, competence and extraordinary qualities to move the country forward.
Continuing, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation urged stakeholders to queue behind the project to achieve the great expectation of millions of well-meaning Nigerians, assuring that revamping the economy, security, education, job creation amongst others would be Obi’s priorities.
In his declaration speech, Obi said that his aspiration under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party would unite Nigeria, bring peace and progress as well as secure the country.
He stated that he had an intimidating track record of efficient and prudent resources management, adding that he would move the most populous black nation in the world from consumption to production economy.
While describing the state of the nation, the former governor stated that Nigeria was at its lowest ebb, saying that if he had the opportunity to lead the country he would turn around its fortune.
He assured the gathering that he was in the race to win and leave behind indelible legacies for Nigerians.
In their respective remarks, the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Alfred Achebe (Obi of Onitsha) who was represented by Igwe of Okpuno, HRH Igwe S.I Okafor and President of ASATU, Chief Titus Akpudo assured Obi of their support.
The duo promised that their associations would put in their very best in the actualization of the project, noting that it’s a collective project.
The highlight of the declaration event was the special prayers and blessings from the two associations.
