Ayede Substation Fire: TCN Regrets Inconveniences After…

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said it successfully put out fire that affected power supply at the Ayede Transmission Substation, Ibadan, Oyo State, regretting inconveniences it caused.

The spokesperson of TCN, Ndidi Mbah who confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday explained that the fire incident in Ayede Substation, started at “about 15:15hrs on Friday 15th April, 2022.”

According to the company, the fire incident, which affected one number 150MVA 330/132kV power transformer, was “contained and power supply restored to the substation at about 18.46, and subsequently to the affected areas the same day.

“We regret any inconveniences this incident may have caused electricity consumers in the affected areas”, Ndidi Mbah said.

Nigeria hhas been experiencing worsening perennial energy crisis in the last few months.
