Hon. Andrew Momodu Wins PDP’s Ticket For Etsako Federal Constituency

ā€¦ Urges Party to Unite to Win the General Elections

Former aide of Adams Oshiomhole ex-Aide and business mogul, Hon. Andrew Momodu emerged candidate of PDP in Etsako Federal Constituency for the 2023 general elections.

Hon. Andrew Momodu defeated four (4) other contestants: Hon Ayuba Omo Sedenu, Engr Moses Omo – Ikirodah, Comrade Abeni Azeez Yakubu and Hajia Hadizat Umoru at the Federal Constituency primary election held at the Auchi public Field today, Sunday, 22nd May, 2022, the official venue for the exercise.

The party primary was conducted by the Primary Election Committee appointed by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).

While Mr. Andrew Young Ehidiamen served as the Electoral Officer Mr. Samson Abu served as the Returning Officer for the PDP Etsako Federal Constituency Primary election.

Mr. Samson Abu who announced the result after the keenly contested primary election declared Hon. Andrew Momodu winner said he scored 89 votes while Hon Ayuba, Hajia Hadizat, Abeni Azeez and Engr Moses got one vote each. He also recorded 5 voided votes. According to Mr Samson, 98 delegates participated in the primaries.

The election was free, fair, peaceful and credible and conducted in accordance with the partyā€™s constitution, 2022 primary guidelines and Electoral Act ( 2022 As Amended).

Addressing newsmen immediately he was declared winner, the young Hon Andrew Momodu full of joy thanked the party leadership including the party delegates for finding him worthy to be entrusted with their mandate. He promised to work with members of the party and ensure that PDP wins Etsako Federal constituency currently occupied by APC.

He also thanked the media for their fair coverage and unbiased reportage. The security agencies were not left out.

He thank them for your patriotism and professional conduct in the discharge of their duties before, during and after the conduct of the exercise.

Finally, the PDP candidate call on his co – contesters to in the spirit of sportsmanship, look beyond the primary, join him to work, build a united house to win the general elections.

According to Hon Andrew Momodu, his victory is victory for the party, a case of no victor, no languished. He promised to work and represent the collective interest of the party and the Etsako people. In his words:

“Today, i have your mandate to fly the flag of our great party, PDP in the 2023 House of Representatives election. I promise to represent our collective interest and execute the mandate of leading, representing and serving our party and the good people of Etsako Federal Constituency on the basis of transparency, accountability, honesty, and commitment to the cause of our people”

In the same vein, a former House of Assembly member and former Commissioner for Youth & Special Duties, Hon (Barr) Damian Lawani emerged the PDP candidate for Etsako Central Constituency.

Other House of Assembly PDP aspirants, Hon Emmanuel Akhaba, Hon Princess Otse Momoh Omorogb and Dr Felix Iyalomhe were declared winners in Etsako East Constituency, Etsako West constituency I and Etsako West Constituency II respectively.
