The First Nigeria Africa natural resources and energy investment summit with a theme “Towards a greener Africa” has ended in Abuja with a cardinal objectives that gave the opportunity for key stakeholders to meet and brainstorm c on Nigeria and Africa specific natural resources and energy options.
Recall that the 3 days program of the First Nigeria Africa natural resources and energy investment summit had convened convene the African mining, finance, power, oil and gas sector is chart a way forward for the development of natural resources and energy projects in a sustainable and climate friendly manner.
In her closing remarks, the permanent secretary, ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Nigeria Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade said the summit has been assail by torrent of ideas, information, statistics, interpretation and vision to enhances individual and collective contributions to meeting global natural resources and challenges with a wide view to distill the prospect of areas of comporative advantage and peculiar challenges in order to develop a road map for future and proffer specific strategies in the path to the energy transition.
She maintain that numerous positions and points of view have been outlined and many messages have been delivered, covering the whole spectrum of natural resources and energy as seen from the perspective of producers, consumers, financiers and investors like.
Adding that, the clean energy discourse will continue to dominate the global energy mix and will be vital for supporting the forecasted expansion in global economic growth and Nigeria and indeed Africa needs to be up to speed in the drive for clean energy security both in production and consumption.
The permanent secretary thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the impetus not just for the summit but for the turnaround being witnessed in the sector in Nigeria.
