Labour Party Affirms Peter Gregory Obi As Its Presidential Candidate in 2023
The emerging third force ahead of the 2023 general elections, Labour Party (LP) has reaffirmed Mr. Peter Gregory Obi as its sole Presidential candidate who emerged after its presidential primary election held on May 30, 2022.
The party spoke in reaction to a false claim by @PDPVanguard that Labour Party has declared Sampson Uchenna Charles as its presidential candidate on July 7, 2022.
The Acting National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party (LP), Comrade Abayomi Arabambi Oluwafemi who cleared the air in a statement urged the @PDPVanguard to be professionally minded.
“Labour Party debunks this unsavory and mischievous misrepresentation of the 2023 Presidential Candidacy of the Labour Party (LP) by the @PDPVanguard.
According to the party, “the @PDPVanguard as an agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is hereby advised to stay on the path of professionalism and avoid taking sides with faceless people who have no bearing with the legitimate Political actives of the Labour Party (LP) on very weighty issues as the transparently free, democratically credible, unblemish free, fair and globally accepted Presidential primaries that brought in Peter Gregory Obi, the former Governor of Anambra state as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 30th May, 2022 primaries that took place in Asaba, the Delta state capital in South South Nigeria.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Labour Party (LP) wishes to commend the sportsmanship of Barr. Sampson Uchenna Charles who was one of the four (4) presidential aspirants that voluntarily stepped down, thereby paving the way for Peter Obi as the Sole Aspirant, culminating in his emergence as the Labour Party’s Sole 2023 Presidential Candidate.
“Nigerians are enjoined to keep up the pace and also speed up the political tsunami whose chemical reaction is sweeping the entire political landscape in Nigeria with Labour Party (LP) and Peter Obi 2023 for total OBI-DIENCE”, the statement concluded.
