The Head of a 4-member family, Mr Adeniyi Adeleke, who is now late since 2018, and his Estate Property of 2 flat-building located at 11, Alhaji Adekunle Street, Off Jinanrere Street, Agbalegan Zone 5, Jinanrere B/Stop, Alakia/Isebo Road, Iyana Church, Ibadan, Oyo State, had ever since been taken over by his enterprising Widow, Madam Funmilayo, who is the Owner of a nearby Ultimate Fashion Designing Shop and living with her 3 grown up Children of about 20 – 30 years of ages due to the ongoing ASUU strike.

These 4 family members were all living in the first flat while the rear flat was allocated to a male tenant, who parked in with his family members, about 3 months ago.

Surprisingly, around 2pm yesterday, Wednesday, 15th June, 2022, the fire, which originated from high voltage of electricity supplied, guted the tenant flat and spread over to the Landlord flat.

During the rage of fire, the sympathetic Youths in the area mobilised themselves to put off the flame of fire but before their collective efforts could yeild a positive result, the 2 flats were completely razed, while a popular Radio Presenter, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, of Agidigbo Fm, kept on announcing it on radio throughout for possible assistance.

The Oyo State Fire fighters who were said to have arrived with insufficient water at the tail of the havoc added little efforts to put off the little remaining flame alongside the Youths.

Comrade AWA Bamiji, the President – General of the Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), in his reaction said, “We are using this opportunity to call on Governments, Corporate Bodies and sympathetic Individuals to come into the aid of this family, who suddenly became hopeless within few hours of fire outbreak, by becoming homeless. Please, let us show them love.

“May God Almighty protect all of us from this kind of problem”, he prayed.
