Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has maintained that Nigeria’s implementation of fuel subsidy is questionable. He emphasized his resolve to remove subsidies and improve critical economic sectors like power, healthcare and education but he will not remove subsidy on fuel if he has nothing beneficial to the masses to do with the money.
According to Obi, “…we cannot spend $40bn on subsidy and less than half on education & health.”
The presidential candidate who spoke on Arise Tv morning show on Wednesday noted that the labour unions are not against fuel subsidy removal if it can be done properly.
