Your Support For Tinubu Will Help Build Bridges – Ken Nnamani Tells Ndigbo
Former Nigerian President of the Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani has argued that Igbo leaders will use their support for the 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build bridges across the country.
Nnamani, who spoke at the inauguration of the state and LGA coordinators of Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council (ICC) in Enugu at the weekend, explained that apart from building bridges across the country, the Igbo should support Tinubu because of the belief that he has the capacity to fix the country.
The President of the Senate, said he was not supporting Tinubu to get ministerial appointment or other pecuniary benefits, stressing that his decision to be with the APC presidential candidate was for the overall benefits of the Ndigbo and the South East region in general.
“I’m not looking for ministerial position because I have outgrown that. We are doing this in the overall interest of our people.
Ndigbo are using our support for Tinubu and APC in 2023 to build bridges across the country”, Nnamani said.
He said the Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council does not take the place of APC in Enugu State, explaining that it is an initiative of the presidential candidate.
He urged the members of the campaign council to remain dedicated in the job of ensuring that the people of Enugu State understand the message and the reason they should cast their votes for Tinubu and APC.
“Don’t join issues with people who are resorting to insults. Just concentrate on the goal because this is a very serious business,” he said.
The state coordinator of the ICC, Chief Gbazuagu Nweke said everything about Tinubu’s presidency in 2023 is in favour of Ndigbo.
He warned that if the people of the Southeast do not line up behind Tinubu in 2023, the APC candidate would win without them
Tinubu will win and his opponents know it. If he cannot win, he won’t be receiving these attacks. The only thing they are holding against him is age.
“He will win even without us, but we won’t be left behind. But we’re just complimenting his election.
“He is over prepared for this position
If Ken and other leaders can say let’s follow this man, we have to obey”, Gbazuagu said.
He promised to take the campaign to every booth across the state.
Gbazuagu was inaugurated alongside former Attorney General of Enugu State, Barr. Ifeanyi Nwoga, as secretary with the former state chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, as director contact and mobilsation among others.

When Ken Nnamani paid N100 million to buy expression of interest and nomination forms to contest in the 2023 presidential primary election of APC, the same Ken who could not give even one naira to South-East APC Presidency Project 2023 to project the South-East for the party’s presidential candidacy, a mutual friend who was in the Senate at same time as Ken called me to say that the Ken he knew would not spend a dime on those forms.
He said that Ken would have collected that N100 million from someone else to pay for those forms.
Now, I suspect that he had collected that money from “Tinubu” to sabotage emergence of a South-Easterner as presidential candidate of APC, as he also sold National Secretaryship of the party to the South-West and got far less important National Deputy Chairman (South) for the South-East, expectedly for himself, only for Emma Eneukwu to defeat him.
Not having learnt from that recent experience of punishment for treachery, he now wants to use “Tinubu” to build bridges. And I ask, bridges to where and from where? People like him cost the South-East presidential ticket on both APC and PDP platforms, and they must not cost the South-East the presidential general election.
In spite of them, the South-East has an above-average and credible presidential candidate in the person of Peter Obi. “Tinubu’s” bridges are not needed.
By the way, has Ken given up on appointing a caretaker chairman to replace elected State Chairman (Ugochukwu Agballa) of APC in Enugu State or at least to create a parallel state chapter for the same 2019 scheme of sharing campaign/election money in 2023. Ken and money, huh. What would he not do for money?
