…Assures Massive Awareness And Sensitization In All LGAs And Councils
The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria has sent in his Yuletide message to the entire Local Governments and Area Council’s in Nigeria.
In his message which was read in part, Alabi was quoted thus:
Fellow Constituents, may the warmth and sparkles of the season fill your home with peace, love, and happiness.
It is interesting to note that like a binding agent, our greatest strength lies in number as epitomized by our convergence in the local councils that spread all over.
No doubt, we enjoy huge constituency with an unrivaled human capital that must be appreciated celebrated, respected, and loved at all them and especially at this time in history.
It is important not to undermine the unique social political and economic implications, rather we should guard it jealously despite the obvious fact that sometimes, issues of politics, attempt to dim or overshadow our shared values; love, and uniqueness.
To me, no matter how politics may have gotten either so hateful or partisan, our unity is our strength in the councils despite some questions out there about the true spirit and purpose of the electoral process with out the robust engagement of the rural population which we have?
In his words, “while Christmas provides ample opportunity for Christians to appreciate the process of Christ’s mission on earth through his birth, I appreciate this and pray for everyone all faith. It is important to understand that the core essence of the event present some nexus of meanings with some messages of Prophet Mohammed.
All these therefore remains pivotal for universal human salvation which we must all emulate.
It is therefore a message which will never end as it constantly challenges everyone beyond our faith on the essence of life struggle and journey towards eternity.
It therefore call for true discipleship, sacrifice, arms-giving, faithfulness, conversion, and repentance with belief that all these have linkages from either the Holy Bible or Koran.
It is expedient that at this Christmas, we must endeavor as followers of Christ make Him the epicenter of their faith and worship. It is equally crucial to understand that such will crystallize the message of our purpose here on earth in a manner that such will constantly guide our actions and remind all faithful of the importance of struggle for holiness in the overall pursuit of life here and after”.
The ALGON National President concluded by reminding the Constituents that the fundamental objective of all Nigerians this time as 2023 Election beckons is to rise to the civic responsibility by painstakingly mobilizing eligible voters at the rural level ahead of less than 66 days from now for total participation in the process.
“According, to him, ALGON will stop at nothing to ensure that all efforts aimed at advancing the course of good governance with fresh perspective in the remaining campaign time frame were given adequate space and attention at the grassroots considering the importance of voter education and mobilizing all eligible grassroots voters in a balanced manner for them to exercise their rights responsibly. Efforts will be intensified to proactively prompt them to deter actions antithetical to laid down rule, rights, aparthy and privileges and to avert issues of disenfranchisement, intimidation or rancorous participation so that peace will reign supreme for the good exercise of their rights which will guarantee the emergence of a widely preferred candidate”.
