305 EFCC Detective Assistants Complete Training at Police Mobile School

A total of 305 Detective Assistants of the EFCC Detective Assistant Course 3/2022, were on February 18, 2023, formally inducted into the service of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at a passing out parade marking the completion of their basic law enforcement training at the Police Mobile Force Training College, PMFTC, Ende Hills, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

The Executive Chairman of EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa commended the quality of training which the young members of the Commission’s protection cadre received from the PMFTC.

According to Bawa, “these young men and women have been transformed from ordinary civilians into law enforcement and combat ready personnel, … for protection of the staff and other critical infrastructure”.

He said the choice of the PMFTC to train the officers was in furtherance of the objectives of the EFCC Strategic Plan 2021-2025 on collaboration and joint training with other law enforcement agencies in combating economic and financial crimes. The EFCC boss commended President Muhammadu Buhari for making the recruitment and training of the officers possible.

The Commandant EFCC Academy, CE Ayo Olowonihi, who formally presented the Cadets to the EFCC Chairman, expressed appreciation for the support he received both from the Commission and the Commandant of the Training College and his instructors.

The Commandant PMFTC, DCP Ali Audu Dabigi, in his welcome address, thanked the EFCC Chairman for “his choice of this institution for molding the characters of the Commission’s newly employed personnel and the Inspector General, IGP Usman Baba Alkali’s magnanimity for his approval of the College as a venue for the Training”.

He informed that “the Cadets before us passed through combat and tactical training that will enable them to protect the staff, formations and the operation areas of the EFCC as part of the Chairman’s effort to establish a strong and reliable institution”.

The cadets entertained the guests with combat march-past, SWAT and fire team wedge and advanced drills.

Danmaigoro Awwal Sulyman emerged as best cadet, while Hassan Shadrach Yesaba and Emeonye Chukwuemeka Godswill were 2nd and 1st runners-up respectively
