Viral Video: Don’t Worry About Bad Losers, Their Mischief, I Never Declared War On Nkanu People – Ezea
Senator-elect, to represent the people of Enugu North Senatorial District,
Enugu State, Barr. Okey Ezea, has said that those misrepresenting facts by picking the idiomatic phrase “do or die” to mean a declaration of war between Nsukka and Nkanu are simply pretending to have missed the point for political convenience, insisting that he never declared war on the good people of Nkanu.
The Labour Party senatorial candidate in the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections was reacting to insinuations that called for war between Nsukka and Nkanu in a viral video of his speech at Nsukka recently.
He said, “My attention has been drawn to the handiwork of mischief makers and bad belly politicians who have continued to misrepresent facts on the viral video of my address to Ndị Nsukka on the need to do more to ensure the victory of Labour Party in the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial and state Assembly elections in Enugu State.
“Some bad losers have continued to isolate an ideomatic expression used to underscore the importance of Labour Party producing the next Governor of Enugu State for an even development of Enugu State, and Nsukka Zone in particular.
“I made it clear that most of the bad roads in Enugu North, the zone that elected me to represent them as their Senator, requires a committed Governor who will prioritize the development of the entire Enugu North Senatorial District, where I have been elected to represent.
“So, those misrepresenting facts by picking the idiomatic phrase “do or die” to mean a declaration of war between Nsukka and Nkanu are simply pretending to have missed the point for political convenience.
“Nkanu people are our brothers and sisters, they are supporters of the incoming President Peter Obi and Labour Party. They have been at the receiving end of the political killings that have resurfaced in Enugu State.
“In the same video, I demanded for free and fair election and clearly stated that if we lose in a credible election, then there will be no problem. We are democrats.
“But the mischief makers who are trying to set Nsukka people against other parts of the state are not talking about my demand for fairplay and credible elections because they know that they cannot win in a free, fair, credible, and peaceful elections.
“Labour Party is not violent. Our Principal, His Excellency, Peter Obi preaches nonviolence.
“They are the violent ones who killed the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East thinking that they can scare us”, he said.
Barr. Ezea therefore called on “all the good people of Enugu State to ignore the antics of the the bad losers and their mischief. Let’s us focus on winning all the elective offices on Saturday”.
He noted that “We need a Governor who will work for all Enugu State people and Labour Party has a good candidate. Ignore them and vote for all the Labour Party candidates in the governorship and state legislative elections on Saturday!”
