Enugu Guber 2023: LP’s Chijioke Edeoga Files Petition, Vows To Reclaim Mandate From PDP
The candidate of the Labour Party in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Enugu State, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga has filed a petition at the Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, insisting that he will reclaim his mandate from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He is challenging the declaration of the candidate of the PDP, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the winner of the election.
Mbah was declared winner of the election with 160, 895 votes against Edeoga’s who 157, 552 votes.

The petitioners specifically alleged, among others things, that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate issued to the PDP candidate, Mr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to enable him qualify to run for Governorship on March 18, 2023 has been disclaimed by the NYSC.
Consequently, in a tweet, Hon. Edeoga assured the people of the state the himself and his party are committed to reclaiming the mandate given to him by Ndị Enugu.
He said, “Dearest Ndi-Enugu,
We remain committed to reclaiming the mandate freely given to us by you, which was stolen with no regard for the collective will of our people.
“The world has its gaze fixed on our judiciary whose loyalty we believe lies with the Nigerian constitution.
“I use this medium to thank our supporters in Enugu and the OBIdient movement who has thrown their weight behind my candidacy in their varying capacities.
“I urge you all to remain calm and observant during this process, I believe the will of the people shall prevail”, Hon. Edeoga affirmed, while thanking the people.
