May 29 Inauguration: Advocacy For Good Governance Congratulates Newly Sworn-In President, Vice President
A frontline nongovernmental organisation (NGO) and civil society group, Advocacy for Good Governance, has congratulated the newly sworn-in President the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, (GCFR) and the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima minutes after a successful ‘change of guard’ in a historic and well-attended event in Abuja.
Speaking through the National President Mallam Muhammad Musa Yakub, the frontline political advocacy group for good governance thanked Nigerians for their unwavering solidarity to tenent and actualization of a transition from one democratic dispensation to another.
He praised the resilience of the people towards the task of a national renaissance.
In an interview at the Eagle Square, venue of the inauguration, the AGG National President called for total support by all Nigerians, including the international community to the new administration, noting that elections are over and the task of consolidating the gains of the country’s democratic success resides in unhindered and rancorous free access for leaders to operate even as checks and balances were critical component of governance.
He also congratulated the new Governors who have taken their oath of office in various states where elections were conducted and winners declared, and urge them to be generous in victory to ensure that recruitment of credible officers with character, competence and experience form their government to drive effective service delivery to the grassroots.
Mallam Muhammad noted that ahead of the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, the need for having quality principal officers was necessary to hit
the ground running in good stead.
He concluded by promising that the AGG who’s spread in the 36 States and FCT with over 6.5 million demography will continue to oversight governance, set agenda and promote national interest within the heterogenous mix of the country.
