Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has launched an assembled and designed in Nigeria electric car.
This is after the National Economic Council (NEC) backed the move by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to begin mass production of electric and Compressed Natural Gas-powered vehicles in the country.
The Director General/Chief Executive Officer of NADDC, Mr. Jelani Aliyu presented the electric car at the State House in Abuja after the NEC meeting on Friday.
He said the mass production of electric and Compressed Natural Gas-powered vehicles would cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in the country.
