Assembly Complex: Kogi Works Commissioner Hands Over Renovation Project to Contractor
…Says Gov Bello Remains a Point of Reference in Infrastructural Development
Kogi State Government has reiterated its commitment at ensuring smooth legislative business on the floor of the House.
Commissioner of Works and Housing, Hon. Samson Bako stated this at the official handover of the contractual document on the renovation of the Kogi State Assembly Complex, Lokoja adding that, Gov Yahay Adoza Bell remained a point of referencein Infrastructural Development.
Bako in his remark noted that Governor Yahaya Bello is passionate about building synergy with the legislative arm, hence the need to provide an edifice to enhance legislative activities.
The Commissioner, who said the Contractor has eight weeks to complete the Project, charged him to deliver within the specified time frame and ensure standard and quality to the taste of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello.
Speaking also, the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yusuf thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for his prompt action at renovating the complex, stressing that the eighth assembly is ready to move with speed as a way of securing the rapid development of the State.
He called on the Contractor not to compromise standard in the execution of the Project, urging him to adhere to contract specification.
On his part, the Contractor, Engineer Joseph Oluwasegun the Chief Executive Officer of Josmond Nigeria Limited thanked Governor Bello for the confidence reposed in his company which he attributed to the Company’s antecedent with regards to Project delivery.
Engineer Joseph noted that the Project will be delivered within the stipulated period of eight weeks in accordance with standard.
Recall that Monday 10 October 2022, fire gutted the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex located in the Crusher area, Lokoja.
The fire destroyed the roof of the Chamber, inflicting considerable damage to the main floor. The cause of the fire was not known.
The new design according to the consultant is to reflect a better aestheticc view of the initial building.
