Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba, Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, inaugurated in October, 2001, by the prominent Yoruba Sons and Daughters of Yorubaland in both Afenifere and Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), alongside their bosom friends from the far North, including sitting Governor Buka Abba Ibrahim of Yobe State and Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd), from Adamawa State, in conjunction with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan, is organising a Lecture titled, “24 Years of Nigerian Civil Rule Without Ola-Oni Inputs: How Comfortable Are The Ola – Oni Followers?”, to be delivered by Comrade Ola-Oni Protege and his old student in Polytechnics, Ibadan, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the immediate past Minister of Interior, and our ever revolutionary Comrade (Barrister) Femi Aborisade, under the distinguished Chairmanship of Comrade Moshood Erubami, Converner, Voters’ Assembly.

This was revealed in a statement signed by the President-General) Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, Comrade Awa Bamiji yesterday. The event holds on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

According to him, the “father and mother of the day are Mr Tokunbo Ajasin, Son of late Leader of Afenifere and former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, and Princess Olabisi Sangodoyin, Ibadan based Gender Activist and key Leader in the Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF) respectively.”

He further revealed that “the Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Executive President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, while the Guests of Honour are past and present Southwest Governors and their Deputies.

“Royal Fathers of the day are His Imperial Majesty Oba Mahud Olalekan Alli Okunmade II, Olubadan of Ibadanland and Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, Oore of Otun – Ekiti, Ekiti State.

“Event holds Saturday, 5 August, 2023, inside De Ace Hall, Beside Bovas Petrol Station, Opposite TAMPAN Secretariat, 82, Adegoke Adelabu Way, Yemetu Alawada, Ibadan, Oyo State, by 11am prompt.

“It is with nolstagia that this event reminds us how we celebrated Alagba Adebayo Faleti @ 80 inside the Conference Hall of University of Ibadan, Ibadan, in July 2011, 12 years ago, through similar partnership with the BCOS, having Mr President as Chairman of occasion while His Excellency, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, as Governor of Lagos State, was the Chief Guest of Honour.

“The role played by both Personalities and even the Chief Host, late Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State will continue to remain ever green in our memory.

“Coincidentally, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola ably represented by Rt (Hon) Mojeed Alabi, former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, and former member of House of Representatives, was the Guest Speaker for the occasion.

“Please, join us once more to celebrate this time around, these 2 prominent female Activists, 2 Heroines of Yorubaland and Nigeria at large, the first twin Sisters to contest and won the crowns of the most Beautiful Ladies in the whole of Southwest Region, MISS WEST, in the year 1965, organised by the NTA, Daily Times and other Corporate Bodies, featuring Deji of Akure as Chairman, Panel of Judges. At this particular period, Comrade Kehinde Ola – Oni was working as Secretary Typist to the Deputy Premier of Western Region, Chief Remi Fani – Kayode, of blessed memory”, Comrade Bamiji said.
